Krishn - who is the epitome or love and creation
Kaali - who is epitome of destruction and rage
It came as a knowing to me and I call it one! Masculine Vs Feminine, Love Vs Detachment, Soft Vs Hard-core, Creation Vs Destruction. These two energies are just different polarities then what is the connection?
Beneath these contrasting forms lies a profound and mystical connection rooted in Sanatan dharama.
Krishna is the "saumya" roop and is known for love for his Radhe ! whereas Kali was the "ugra" roop ready to destruct and destroy entire universe including Shiva ! But there is something which connects them both - Shyaam rang. The dark blue or black color represents the infinite cosmos, formless ultimate reality and nothing is beyond that. Just as black absorbs every other color of light, these deities absorb all worldly emotions, forms, and experiences and there is nothing left beyond them!
Before the Great War of Mahabharata, Lord Krishna, in fact, is said to have invoked Ma Kali. Though He was the complete incarnation of Lord Vishnu, He knew that it was Shakti, the Divine Feminine, who would help achieve the ultimate victory for Dharma. So, on Amavasya, a new moon night, He quietly stepped away from the Pandavas’ camp. Maa blessed Him, promising that Her Divine Power would empower the Pandavas to overcome all odds. Simply, Krishn himself felt incomplete without merging with Shakti!
Ma Kali Bhakti is a path of surrender into the unknown and Lord Krishna Bhakti, on the other hand, delights in joy, music, and Rasa. But both paths dissolve the ego. What connects them is the inner fire of devotion. Both Kali and Krishna consume the seeker’s ignorance, Kali through destruction, Krishna through seduction.
Krishn played his flute every night in the deep woods of Vrindavan. Hearing the music, Radha slipped out of her home to meet him. Radha's husband, Ayan Ghosh came to know about the secret meeting. Enraged Ayan ran into the dark forest to catch Radha and her lover red-handed. Knowing what was about to happen, Krishn used his divine power. He told Radha to quickly gather forest flowers and fruit and sit in a posture of worship. Before Ayan arrived, Krishn changed his form into that of Goddess Kali. Ayan burst into the clearing, he did not find Krishn. Instead, he saw his wife sitting in deep devotion, performing puja to Mother Kali. This temple in Kolkata is called Krishna-Kali Mandir.
Shiva revealed that the DasMahavidya and the Dashavatara are completely identical mirror expressions of the exact same ultimate reality and growth pattern of universe.
The resounding voice that comes from my heart is - The divine feminine fierce form of Maa Kali wanted to experience the dynamic, flute playing, ecstatic, devotional form of love so she became Krishn! The soulful Krishn when wanted to cut through illusions to experience ultimate freedom , he became Kali!
